Architectural Excellence : This building was finished with a combination of EIFS (Exterior insulated finish system) and ACM (Aluminum composite material) to comply with Toyota’s mandated look for all their new dealerships. The ACM is a low maintenance siding material applied as a rain-screen to protect the building structure from the affects of the weather here in the northwest while providing a high-tech look and feel in keeping with the cutting edge image Toyota is promoting.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : This building is a classic example of the benefits of modular construction. The original production start date was 5/26/2004. The project was designed and built to be an addition to Bend Toyota, but due to differences with the city over the removal of a tree the project was canceled. We then stored the building for three years until Wheeler Toyota was ready to install it as part of their new dealership. By being built modular the building was easily redirected to a new site over 200 miles away from the original site with minimal financial impact to any of the parties involved.

By way of energy efficiency the building is built with closed cell R-11 spray foam insulation in the floor, R-19 in the walls and R-30 in the roof with dual glazed insulating glass in all the windows and doors. The furnace is fueled by natural gas and the lighting is from T-8 florescent tubes with electronic ballasts.

Technical Innovation : This building was designed to be 95% complete in the factory including such amenities as forced air ducted heat and cooling to the service pits and all of the necessary service equipment for a quick lube operation including storage tanks, pumps, dispensers, air compressors and vehicle lifts. Within a week of arrival on site the building was complete and ready to open but the opening was held off for several months while the balance of the new dealership was completed.
