Architectural Excellence : This 17-module, 12031 square feet multi office, administrative hospital complex was chosen by the customer due to time restraints for occupancy and the temporary nature for need of the structure itself. The customer was looking to relocate close to 100 employees and had a specific floorplan in mind, which had to be altered in order to meet handicap accessibility requirements for the facilities: Shortening the modules from 60’ to 56’ and adding one additional module for a total of 17. All modules were crane lifted atop an existing parking garage.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : Modular construction was chosen due to the time restraints of the project.
To keep hospital operations running, it was imperative that all employees were able to relocate within the set time lines. Modular construction was the only construction method that guaranteed a timely completion and avoid potential additional costs of outsourcing services. In addition the customer was able to avoid otherwise incurred Davis Bacon wages, if site construction would have been chosen.

Technical Innovation : This project posed technical difficulties due to the fact that the location for the building is on top of a four-story, already existing parking garage. The overall weight of the building had to be limited to guarantee a not to exceed live load, supported by the parking garage. The foundation had to be designed, so that an even weight distribution was guaranteed. The garage had to be x-rayed to place the tie downs away from concrete embedded utilities and service lines.
