Architectural Excellence : The University of Texas of the Permian Basin required an on-campus facility comprised of an administration building and two classroom buildings. Upon receiving long awaited funding, the University wanted to quickly get the facility up and running to allow teaching of kindergarten through sixth grade students as part of a science, technology, engineering and math charter school. Utilizing modular industry standard finishes and methods, the architectural elements of this project allowed the buildings to be manufactured and installed quickly. Additionally, the units successfully integrate with the existing campus.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : The cost effectiveness of the project was accomplished by utilizing standard materials used in modular construction such as composite panel siding, vinyl covered gypsum, vinyl composition tile and wall-hung package HVAC units. The classrooms are not continuously occupied, so programmable thermostats were used to minimize energy consumption. Fully insulated walls, floors and ceilings along with energy efficient windows also add to the cost effectiveness of the facilities.

Technical Innovation : Central corridors and multi-occupant restrooms with separate staff restrooms provide for increased security of the facility. Child friendly toilet fixtures and cabinets are also located throughout the building to help facilitate an ease-of-use environment. The design supports convenient parent drop-off and pick-up of students. Providing the complete turnkey installation including site preparation, foundations, parking lot and utilities, afforded our client the luxury of focusing on their daily duties instead of worrying about hiring multiple subcontractors and managing their work. Utilizing durable interior and exterior finishes will provide for a long lasting and low maintenance facility for many years.
