Architectural Excellence : In an effort to revitalize post-Katrina New Orleans, the University of New Orleans Tennis Center was designed and constructed to exhibit modern day elegance and technology without sacrificing the traditional southern charm of past New Orleans style construction. The vibrant exterior s tucco paired with oversized white trim, teh spectacular French doors and rounded windows provide the perfect contrast together in keeping with the grandeur of Creole-inspired architecture.
Combining excellence to detail and commitment to the total project, Ameri-Tech Building Systems and Commercial Modular Structures were able to hurdle design opportunities to avoid less than perfect aesthetics.
With its expedited construction process, the Tennis Center provided promising renewed hope that New Orleans in on the path to recovery.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : With the very nature of tournament tennis play we quickly realized the building's use would fluctuate greatly between tournaments and everyday business. We also came to the conclusion that the locker rooms would have limited use the majority of the week but when in use the traffic would more than likely be significant. Keeping this in mind along with the aesthetics of the building the decision was made to utilize a split sytem roof mount approach. This configuration will give the customer the flexibility to manaage their usage of the HVAC system keeping their clientele cool during the hote New Orleans summers and allow them to control their cost when areas of the building are not in use.
