Architectural Excellence : This singlewide mobile field office, built on a standard 1260 frame, is designed to provide the same functional and mobility advantages as a traditional mobile field office with one major exception. This unit has been completely re-designed and re-engineered to be highly sustainable. On this project, the client sought a field office for the general contractor that supported their overall project goals of building a highly sustainable operations, administration, and maintenance facility for this community’s Transpo center. This project is intended to be the nation’s first LEED Platinum transit facility. This mobile office met those goals and more through its many design and technical innovations. These innovations are now being incorporated into the entire lease fleet, which will provide lease customers with exceptional performance on an individual basis, but also, when multiplied through the quantity and life of the fleet, a huge reduction in the fleet’s overall carbon footprint.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : The cost effectiveness and energy efficiency of this unit comes in several levels. First, the unit has been designed with production in mind. The application of sustainable building practices have been easily incorporated into a standard production line. This makes this mobile office efficient to manufacture. Second, the material choices incorporated where selected for their efficiency and their durability, providing a long-term life and thus providing a higher than standard ROI. Third, virtually all of the materials used in the unit are recyclable allowing for reuse or recycling and life’s end. This makes decommissioning more cost effective, requires no land fill space, and lowers the end of life energy use and thus its overall carbon footprint. Fourth, the day to day performance of the unit, due to its efficient systems and enhanced skin, greatly reduce the operational energy use by up to 70% of a standard unit when all end-user options are incorporated.
