Additional Info

Award Winner : Triumph Modular

Architectural Excellence : Triumph Modular installed a new 40-module, 20,000 square foot kindergarten classroom addition to an existing 2008 modular Early Childhood Center. The project design features oversized windows for enhanced learning & observation, a center courtyard, and an expansive and welcoming front entry.

The project schedule was enhanced by designing & delivering the project as two building complexes. Each building complex consists of 8 classrooms with center corridor. The total addition consists of 17 classrooms, each with an individual restroom and library/media room.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : Triumph Modular worked extensively with the architect and Town of North Andover to provide value engineering options, resulting in cost effectiveness which did not affect building integrity. For example, the overall footprint size of the playroom was reduced as well as height of eve from 14’ to 12’. Additionally, the Town decided to accept an open truss ceiling in the playroom in-lieu-of drop ceiling. While this last option was explored and accepted for budgetary reasons, ultimately the Town was happier with the more industrial look of the finished product in the playroom space.

Technical Innovation : The existing front entry was relocated to seamlessly incorporate the vestibule and establish integration of existing school with modular addition. Floor to ceiling glass at main door allows maximum daylight to flood reception area. Natural light is optimized throughout the building with the design of large windows in each classroom that run up to the drop ceiling. The result is fresh, bright, light-filled spaces for learning. Walls throughout the addition are finished in traditional painted sheetrock with the hallways featuring added 4’ of ceramic tile. Building arrived with 70% built to completion with VCT, ceiling tiles, ceramic tile and walls requiring final touchups on site. Exterior lighting features high efficiency LED devices which run on daylight sensors.
