Stillwater Regional Airport - TSA Airport Screening Terminal
Additional Info
Award Winner : Aries Building Systems, LLC
Architectural Excellence : Stillwater Regional Airport needed a multifunctional TSA screening building that required an unorthodox combination of factors, such as an open layout containing soundproof screening rooms, unscreened passenger staging, and a screened passenger lounge area. Additional structure and foundation was required to adequately support heavy equipment like an X-ray screening system. Restroom facilities were also factored into the building.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : In addition to our cost-saving relationships with parts and supplies vendors, the architect we worked with allowed us to build a superior product at a fraction of the price of our competitors. Another cost-saving benefit passed along to the customer is our simultaneous in-house manufacturing and on-site building methodology. This lean allocation of our resources allows us to drastically reduce the time between construction and occupancy

Technical Innovation : This project needed a building designed that would work cohesively with existing surroundings. We sought help from one of the country’s leading architectural companies to ensure a maximum level of quality, sustainability, and aesthetics—right down to making the interior and exterior match the coloring of the main terminal. The end result was a building that looked like a natural extension of the original structure, not an addition or afterthought.
