Architectural Excellence : All building finish floors are at the same elevation and are accessible to each other by nearly 1,000 lf of raised platform walkways with lighted canopies. This ADA compliant campus includes (10) handicap accessible ramps and concrete sidewalks
All classroom buildings were located around the perimeter of the campus, the interior core consisting of the support buildings allowing easy accessibility from each classroom.
Due to the location of the campus, a fully enclosed 8’ high perimeter chain link fence with (6) personal gates and (1) 12’ delivery gate. A loading dock and roadway to the food service building was within our scope supporting food and supply deliveries for the entire campus. Complete site development inclusive of new water domestic water service, sanitary service, 1200 amp, 480 V electrical service, telephone and cable services, faculty parking lot, school bus roadways with 24’ x 66’ canopied student drop off area.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : The buildings’ electrical and mechanical systems were designed and installed to meet the latest State of Louisiana energy codes. The design of the campus centered on future relocatability of some or all of the buildings. All the classroom buildings have been designed so that they could be broken down into double wide classrooms with only the addition of an exterior wall. The male and female restroom buildings are single-wides and are divided into two sections so they can be relocated and utilized as a male and female restroom facility as needed.

Technical Innovation : Because of the poor soil conditions, the design of the buildings and walkways had to create a completely elevated layout. The foundation design utilized 1,550, 35’ long, Class 5 wood piles with reinforced concrete pile caps to support building and provide proper building wind loading support due to poor soil bearing capacity.
The raised walkway platforms and canopies constructed utilizing structural steel tubing columns supported by 12” diameter reinforced concrete footings.
All building finish floors where installed at the same elevation so that buildings could be connected to one another by the use of raised platforms
Buildings included central ac/heat, addressable fire alarm systems, public address systems, clock and bell systems, security systems, telephone, cable television and data systems.
