Technical Innovation : Due to the remoteness of the site, this project required an extensive fire protection design. A 22,000 gallon water storage tank and accompanying fire pump were incorporated with the building design to provide the building fire protection compliant with NFPA. The access control and security meet the Residential directive which was recently established.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : Icon Construction’s modular buildings meet or exceed all current energy codes. Sustainability begins with Icon’s centrally located U.S. manufacturing plant. The 65,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility utilizes an abundance of natural lighting and other energy saving technologies. Materials utilized in Icon modular buildings include recycled steel, recycled carpet, recycled lumber, LED lighting and double-paned low-E windows as well as various other products. In addition, unused materials are recycled. Icon Construction’s modular manufacturing process allows us to provide a cost-effective modular building solution by managing time spent on construction and by controlling other factors like labor and material costs.

Architectural Excellence : One modular building of (7) floors make up the 6,353 sq. ft. Sonoita Border Patrol Station. With the increase in personnel protecting our southern border, administration space is scarce. Icon provided a welcome modular solution. This facility provided much needed office space, muster and workout room for this very active Border Patrol Station. The station is one of eight in the Border Patrol's Tucson Sector. It is responsible for nearly 27 miles of the border, most of which runs along the San Rafael Valley. The Sonoita Station utilizes a multi-tiered, deterrence-based operational strategy in which agents are deployed in highly visible and strategic locations. Approximately 300 agents at Sonoita are responsible for 1,000 square miles. The Station needs a modular building to accommodate new personnel and Icon was more than happy to accommodate.
