Architectural Excellence : The Ogec Cracow Fly Camp project is a technical mobile and very diverse fly camp meant to serve at shale gas and oil rigs both in Poland and elsewhere. Meeting the current demand for state-of-the-art modular buildings within the most promising shale gas program in Poland, it is a self-existing multi-functional area, built of recycled converted first trip metal sea containers. The total amount of 16 ea units is 4,844 sq. ft. Specialized units have sanitary facilities, their own water and sewage system, emergency and fire alarm system, and all types of media installations. The site boasts with its technical home-like wooden laminated chipboard rooms, professional labs, fully-equipped kitchen, sleepers, offices, drying rooms, workshops, laboratories and all other amenities which serve a modern rig. Moreover, enhanced usable space, the clean colors of both exterior and interior have been opted for aesthetical reasons to meet the need of comfort at drilling sites.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : The facility is 100% factory complete and includes all system testing and sign off. This is especially important given the geographical location of the camps’ final destination. All mechanical, plumbing and electrical fixtures are chosen for their low volume and low energy use abilities. The 6cm sandwich panel is a great advantage as far as thermo-insulation parameters are concerned. Also, it allows for a larger usable space. Essentially, the low volume and low energy fixtures limit and control the client’s needs to reload on natural resources. Each module with its windows with steel shutters is constructed so as to be as much aerodynamic and for safety purposes as possible in order to be transported worldwide with utmost ease to such locations as e.g. Siberia. The quick erection process at site reduced to minimum, the usage of recycled containers and the rapid transport system, contributes to cost effectiveness of the project and an eco-friendly approach.

Technical Innovation : What makes this product special and unique in Europe is that it has been fabricated in Poland with both American and European double standard rig power supply, at frequencies of 50/60Hz, and then sent to oil & gas sites ready to plug and play. This is thanks to an innovative current frequency converter which constitutes an essential element for particular devices suiting different rigs. The Ogec Cracow Fly Camp is structurally, mechanically and electrically prepared for easy and rapid connection and erection. The entire facility is structurally supported on a steel frame, which serves as a permanent foundation for the facility. The modules were designed on the basis of regular sea containers maintaining their exterior dimensions with international heavy truck transport functionality. The roof construction, stairs and landings, are all galvanized for better maintenance in changing weather conditions.
