Architectural Excellence : This modular building for Sacred Heart Catholic Church is used for educational purposes. It is a (5) sectional facility featuring a recessed entry with store front glass doors on the center unit. This single story building is 4,847 square feet with an occupant load of 130 persons. Interior layout includes (6) large classrooms, (6) smaller classrooms, Boy’s and Girl’s multi-stall restrooms, and a Deacon’s office. The interior finishes include tiled floors in restrooms and corridors, carpeted offices and classrooms; vinyl covered gypsum walls and suspended acoustic tile ceilings. Exterior features include a 30” vertical mansard with 4” projection around the perimeter, virtually seamless stucco finish siding, and .25/12 pitch EPDM roof. The front of the building is beautifully landscaped with a sitting area, statue and flowers for an inviting setting with visually enticing appeal.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : Modular construction was requested for this project both for cost effectiveness and quicker occupancy. The majority of this building was completed in-factory to minimize project costs and provide efficiency in the speed of the construction. In order to meet the customer’s aesthetic requirements, A/C split systems with programmable thermostats were installed both for energy efficiency and a more attractive appearance. Dual insulated glass was also installed for energy efficiency.

Technical Innovation : To help preserve the symmetry and longevity of the exterior, the roof overhang was installed to assist in preventing staining from rain water. Gutters were also installed even with the roof line on the full perimeter which also enhances the shape and define the exterior as well. The requirements that an educational building demand were taken into careful consideration and specifications were utilized to meet the construction methodology for the youth that would be accommodating this facility.
