Architectural Excellence : This tiny 300 sq. ft. building has quite a big job. In an onslaught of emergencies this little modular becomes the epicenter of Rockland County’s 911 dispatch center. Inside it, operators speak to people in need; dispatching ambulances and police cars as needed. This mobile office has to be ready to jump into action at a moments notice. The office contains 6 computer rated dispatch units used for call documentation, location tracking, and police and medical dispatch. The interior is a wood-grained paneling with matching counter tops where flat screen computers rest. The exterior is designer beige aluminum siding with a dark red metallic trim. The location of the building is just outside the Rockland County Firemen’s Training Center.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : This building saved Rockland County thousand’s of dollars as it was so quickly designed and installed; in less than 2 weeks. In addition, this building saved Rockland County tax payers money that would have otherwise gone to rent extra space in a building or renovate an old space to accommodate the auxiliary dispatch team.
