Architectural Excellence : The (RED) Pavilion is designed as a self-contained, off-grid modular structure with a unique roof top terrace. The main floor has an open floor plan with IPE slat wood flooring that extends and steps down onto both long sides of the structure. Around the four sides of the structure are the wide-reaching shade screens, operable to provide optimized shading in a wide range of site conditions. These cantilevered shades were also used as the main graphic panels to deliver the message of the organization. When folded flat the whole structure turns into a compact box matching the standard ISO shipping container size (8 feet by 40 feet), allowing for efficient transport.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : The structure employed a good deal of re-utilized and recycled material at substantial cost savings. Off-site construction saved enormously over alternative on-site construction options. The construction is fully reusable adding additional long-term cost efficiency and investment value.

Technical Innovation : The (Red) Pavilion uses a substantial proportion of re-utilized fleet modular construction and recycled or re-purposed materials. The folding wing systems allow for unique appearance and expandable size that can create a large outdoor pavilion and shade space with ease of transportation, installation and relocation. As a modular system, multiple frame modules can be combined to create much larger exhibition structures in a range of configurations. The basic frame module is 8’ x 40’ X 9’-6” providing two stories of 320 s. ft. floor space, and unfolded the pavilion shades an area of 1508 square feet.
