Architectural Excellence : On August 21, 2018, an environmental disaster affected the communes of Quintero and Puchuncaví in the region of Valparaíso, Chile. This event generated hundreds of diseases among residents, and was listed as one of the worst in the history of our country. Due to this environmental catastrophe, the regional hospital became saturated with patients, and therefore had to find a good and fast solution to be able to help the entire population. Tecno Fast then was awarded with the project, based on our experience of clinical enclosures, and began working on building spaces for medical consultations and a diner for officials.
For medical consultations 2,099 sqf were built, which is the union of 6 modules of 33 x 9.8ft and one interconnecting module with the main building of 19.7 x 8.2ft. In the case of the dining room, a total area of 1,453sqf was built, consisting of 2 modules of 33 x 9.8ft and 5 modules of 19.7 x 8.2ft, reaching around 80 people on its daily use.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : When we were awarded the project, the client asked for it in a rental mode for 12 months, since it was a fast solution with a lot of benefits. Our client idea is, after the crisis passes, and after the excellent user experience, to use the units in other complex situations or in small towns with deficits in healthcare infrastructure, offering us to buy the units. They understand that a modular solution is the only way to take care of healthcare emergencies and to expand to other small cities without a huge public expense.

Technical Innovation : To achieve compliance with current health regulations we had to incorporate a specific clinical interior lining with this objective. As for the structure of the modules of the attention boxes, these were made with a metal cage clad in radiated pine wood, with a Smart Panel exterior siding. We also had to design concrete foundations, with a galvanized metal extension in the form of a pedestal, which reached a maximum height of 4ft, the latter to connect directly (without a level difference) the central clinic with the care boxes. Since the manufacture, dispatch, assembly and delivery to the customer no more than 3 months passed.
