Architectural Excellence : This camp consists of six - three storey, 144-person dormitories that include two people per room with private baths. The roofs of all units were pre-engineered with wooden trusses and curved metal to help shed snow. The curved metal roof cladding components contain an extra layer of insulation that was added during the manufacturing to help reduce condensation on the metal. The bedrooms and hallways all have a drop ceiling to facilitate internet services with television and telephone cabling to each room. There are also two common recreational and meeting areas that are integrated with covered walkways as well as electrical rooms, kitchen/dining area and a linen storage area.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : Each room contains a heater and a split air conditioning system for easy balancing and flexibility for each person to control their desired temperature. The hallways contain bumper rails on the walls for the janitorial service and their cleaning carts to eliminate wall damage and reduce overall maintenance costs. The flexibility and easy disassembly of the units were a major component to the client’s need with efficient plant labour rates that helped in the construction process and made manufacturing the units a natural choice that helped keep the cost down.

Technical Innovation : A creative process was used in the installation of the bathrooms. The bathrooms were in a cube-like fashion with a fly over roof component added, similar to that of a car assembly line which was fast and efficient. Central exhaust fans and carpeting were installed to help reduce noise. There is constant air flow that is controlled by timers running through the facility along with a laundry chute located on each floor for house keeping to pick up on a daily basis. The facility is also a modular system that can be changed and reconfigured at any time. An alarm panel with LED lighting was installed to monitor any problems if they were to occur and where the problem was coming from directly.
