Architectural Excellence : Our Poplar Creek and Birch Mountain Open Camps are skidded (2)540 person facilities, providing workforce housing for multiple oil companies located approximately 26 km NW of Fort McMurray, Alberta. The open camps includes hotel style check-in lobby, administration offices, luggage storage, work boot and coat storage, lounges, games rooms, large recreation area fitness facility, meeting rooms, public washrooms, commissary, first aid, coffee and snack bars, made to order sandwich bar, commercial kitchen, dining hall with restaurant style seating and on-site security. A combination of construction methods were utilized in this modular building, including skeletal wall framing and conventional prefabricated modules. The exterior is finished with steel siding.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : The manufacturing, transportation and installation of both these facilities was done completely in-house in the fraction of time it would have taken had outside resources been utilized permitting us to have our doors open on time and clients heads on pillows. As a result, travel time was greatly reduced for many clients as they had a place to stay closer to work. The buildings also feature both low flush toilets and high efficiency lighting, contributing to the cost savings approach for this facility.

Technical Innovation : Our facility consists of two separate 540 person camps on the same site. Each facility comes with its own waste water treatment plant, potable water treatment plant and power generation. All 1,080 rooms are 126 sq ft management dorms with private washrooms helping to create a "home away from home" atmosphere. Operational cost saving features included compact fluorescent light bulbs, hot water recirculating system, energy efficient appliances and low maintenance flooring finishes.
