Architectural Excellence : Paxton Walk is a community including residential and retail in the same development. Owners can live where they work and enjoy all amenities found in upscale home environments. The need to furnish a marketing center with a true model of the condos offered was paramount to the project success. This building includes a selling floor exhibiting a pathway created by wood flooring allowing visitors to stroll the project. Lifestyle photos, models, and samples of finishes are part of the scenery along the way. This unique setting is a great example of the versatility of modular buildings. Ten-foot ceilings accentuate the expansive interior. A curved logo wall is welcoming at the entry and provides a screen for the large topo table. Restrooms and a large kitchen/break area allow for comfort of employees and visitors. The environment is finished off by a true model of a condo that is offered, complete with a skylight.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : While this building was basically a fleet unit with a wall mounted HVAC system, as part of our renovation, insulation to the ceiling and Low E windows were added to enhance the climate control system and achieve cost effective energy use. The building is set on pads and piers and with very little work can be relocated in a very cost effective manner. A parapet was added to give the building height and allow for a remarkable wrap of the exterior, which depicts the finished project and lifestyle photos. Minimal work was performed on the exterior, thus saving our customer significantly.

Technical Innovation : The customer needed to meet a budget for their marketing center and modular was the only way to achieve their goal. They did not have the time to build a new unit and Pac-Van had the solution. A used building happened to be available with most of the customer’s requirements already present. Of course modification was needed to correctly represent the customer’s project and marketing plan. That is where innovation comes in to play. While the customer needed an open floor plan, the building available for renovation had posted ridge beams. We managed to overcome this challenge by adding a curved wall at the entry and extending partition walls slightly to capture the posting needed for support. The ten foot ceilings helped in creating an open design and the spacious interior layout. The interior was completely renovated and all new finishes were applied. The condo model was perfect in every detail of the décor and space layout, making the success of this project inevitable.
