Architectural Excellence : The construction of ENCUENTRO CAMP for Antofagasta Minerals is located in the copper production mining district of Sierra Gorda. This modular building is used to finish the construction according to schedule, and for better thermal performance. The building provides dormitories, recreation areas, kitchen and meeting hall, first aid clinic and administration office. All dormitories are fully equiped with heaters, furniture and linen. All buildings are interconnected by a corridor fully insulated with electric heaters. This turn key contract assures the owner that the camp is ready for their construction subcontractors.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : Modular and panelized corridors are ready to be installed, and lumber blocking for foundation are designed to improve installation cost.

Green Building Description : This is a wooden structured building, using intense R12 insulation on walls and R20 roof and floors. All lumber is Chilean lumber, treated according to Chilean strict standards.

Technical Innovation : All the construction of modules and panels was done at the Tecno Fast Santiago plant, and delivered to site according to schedule requirements; a complete kitchen and administration office were included. Groud tranportation to site was conducted according to strict protocol to avoid damages or lost of confidence with the communities involved. The project considered the building of a sewage treatment plant, a drinking water plant and a diesel generation plant for all the needs of the camp.
