Orthodontic Office
Additional Info
Award Winner : Modern Building Systems, Inc.
Architectural Excellence : This Orthodontic Clinic was a complete renovation and addition to the existing old modular structure. The original modular building was built in 1986 and has been used as an office previously. The original building was completely redone, in- and outside. This included new floors and walls. The roof had to be replaced and siding redone. Since the customer also desired more space for office and record storage, one modular section was added to the structure to provide more square feet.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : To renovate an existing structure and add on to it was the only route the clinic could go in order to obtain a building permit for this location. The renovation itself posed a significant saving to the customer over new construction.
The existing structure had dual glass windows and 8 light fixtures installed to become more energy efficient.

Project Location City : Canby
Project Location State Name : OR
Technical Innovation : The local building codes and zoning requirements in this area only allowed for remodel and renovation, since the location is in the historic part of town, where no new building structures are permitted. The retrofit building look had to be preserved to not interfere with the general esthetic and historic requirements in the area.
