Architectural Excellence : This first-class Operations Lodge provides central services for operations of a SAG D Oil Facility located approximately 85 km NW of Fort McMurray, Alberta. The building includes hotel style check-in lobby, administration offices, luggage storage, work boot and coat storage, lounges, games rooms, meeting rooms, public washrooms, commissary, coffee and snack bars, commercial kitchen and dining hall with restaurant style seating. A combination of construction methods were utilized in this modular building, including skeletal wall framing, exposed wood truss beams, panelized construction, and conventional prefabricated modules. The exterior is finished with a combination of steel siding, Hardy-Panel, and natural stone. The interior features vaulted ceilings, ceramic tile flooring, natural stone, stained wood detailing, fireplace and atrium.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : This 26,775 SF lodge was designed as a two-storey side x side structure limiting the space requirements for land use with only 11' x 6' exposed wall to the exterior, cutting down on heating costs in the winter. The building also features both low-flush toilets and energy efficient lighting (non-fluorescent), contributing to lower energy costs.

Technical Innovation : Our innovative uses of special features are apparent throughout our facility. These include side x side construction, only two rooms per module, low voltage lighting throughout, nine-foot finish ceiling heights, larger windows, extra large fitness facility, 285 sq ft individual executive rooms with private washrooms, all of which include card lock door entry systems, queen size pillow-top mattresses, 500 count Egyptian sheets, under-the-counter stainless steel refrigerator, coffee maker, 42 inch flat panel t.v., wired for both satellite t.v. and internet, individual heating and cooling units per room (PTAC) for desired temperature control and extra sound proofing for a relaxed ambiance and privacy.
