Architectural Excellence : Accessible by only boat or helicopter, the Oil Nut Bay (ONB) Resort is one of the most exclusive and prestigious resorts in the world. Located in the coveted North Sound area (eastern most tip) of the British Virgin Islands, Oil Nut Bay is surrounded with a lush expanse of green topography and rising rocky terrain. Because of recent hurricanes and the abundant challenges in getting materials and able workforce to this region, the developer turned to VESTA Modular to design and build a modular Villa solution called the Bay Suites that would fit within the current resort footprint and high-end expectations. Within the Bay Suites luxurious and comfortable accommodation, guests will enjoy the extravagance of the open design concept, high end material finishes, an outdoor shower and more, all this comes with breathtaking views of the turquoise Caribbean Sea. Modular is the new form of luxury within this resort.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : With lack of materials and workforce available on the island, VESTA proved to save the customer over 40% compared to traditional methods in both time and money. With cost savings in mind, VESTA worked with the developer to find methods and materials to reduce costs of modular production, freight as well as ultimate operation of the facility. Efforts included working to reduce the number of modules and to achieve more efficient square footage, designing highly energy efficient modules and working with material suppliers to provide savings.

Green Building Description : The Bay Suites were built with a focus on being green including premium widows, high R-values, along with water and electricity conservation. From dimmable LED lights to water saving plumbing fixtures, the buildings were designed to have the smallest impact on the environment possible. Modular construction offered the best environmental solution minimizing shipping of construction waste and resources to a logistically remote location.

Technical Innovation : Considering the remote and pristine location, VESTA paid special attention in providing a product that would meet the high standards of the resort while keeping in mind the distance that these modules would travel by land and sea. Utilizing premium products throughout and making sure that the modules remained water tight and were easy to maneuver once they arrived on the island. Structural considerations were also factored with the large openings and hurricane resistance design standards utilizing corrosive resistance solutions due to the proximity to the salt water sea.
