Architectural Excellence : Northridge School District in Johnstown, OH was faced with a restructuring for the new school year and needed to quickly add more space to accommodate the students. ModSpace put together a classroom solution for the school board that was designed to meet their requirements, all under one roof, on time and on budget. The building consists of 22 modules offering 17,000 square feet of various sized classrooms, a large multi-purpose room to serve as lunchroom and meeting space, restrooms for both students and faculty and large corridors to accommodate lockers. Brightly lit classrooms were designed to have flexibility with configurations to accommodate changing classroom sizes. In addition to classroom space, this building will also house the District offices for the Superintendent and Treasurer. Within 45 days the entire school project was complete.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : By leasing a temporary modular classroom complex from ModSpace, the Northridge Local School District was able to provide much needed classroom space for their students while they tried to secure a bond to build a larger school in the future. The ability to easily locate the modular classrooms alongside an existing elementary school also helped to ease concerns from parents, teachers and students caused by the district restructuring. The school district also has the flexibility to utilize this building at another school location in the future if needed.

Technical Innovation : This project involved an in-fleet building solution that utilized existing classrooms available in-fleet. Although ModSpace was able to quickly deploy classrooms to the school site, significant grading work needed to be completed on site prior to delivery of the buildings. Concrete sidewalks were poured with accessibility extensions at each ramp. Careful consideration was made to drainage along the walkways, steps and ramps.
