Architectural Excellence : The local Fire and Emergency Medical Services Agency desired a craftsman lodge style building with board and batten siding, dry stack rock wainscot, and a rustic vaulted timber entryway that would accommodate their day-to-day operations and fit their existing property. The interior elements of the building include several multipurpose conference spaces, teaching classrooms, and a full sized training room. A unique food preparation area was added to allow for community gatherings and celebrations, as well as outreach to youths to teach healthy food habits. The classroom spaces and state of the art emergency simulation room including a full sized ambulance to allow for the training of real life on the job emergency situations.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : Prior to contacting Modern, the client attempted to initiate their expansion project through a traditional construction company. This venture cost the client thousands of dollars on preliminary designs that ultimately proved to be well outside their budget specifications. Modern was able to work with the client to match their preferred building design, timeline, and meet their budget constraints. Modern’s accelerated offsite construction and in house transport, LEED AP design team, structural and civil engineers and site crews significantly reduced the expansion cost of the building. This allowed surplus funds to be used to upgrade materials such as the heavy-duty flooring, eco-friendly insulation, and a more enduring roofing system that in the long run will further the clients savings in maintenance costs.
