Nash Imaging Suite
Additional Info
Award Winner : ModSpace
Architectural Excellence : The modular diagnostic imaging suite was comprised of two modular components. The suite was seamlessly integrated into the existing hospital campus using the same interior colors and materials. The exterior was finished in brick which matched the surrounding buildings. A glass corridor was built to connect the suite to the hospital providing a natural, open air atmosphere when walking into the PET/CT suite. Additional natural light was provided from the 4 x 4 foot window placed in the viewing room.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : The customer was leasing a mobile PET/CT trailer at a monthly premium for years. This fix site solution saved them that monthly expense, as well as provides an aesthetically pleasing environment for their patients. The facility was built, the equipment installed and fully operational within only 6 months --- the lease expired and they were seeing patients with zero downtime, which translates to zero loss of revenues. The building was craned into place, minimizing sight disruption, thus reducing site clean-up costs.

Technical Innovation : A steel and concrete modular construction method was utilized in building the suite to achieved two requirements; the building had to be non-combustible and a concrete floor was necessary to support the 6500 pound PET/CT equipment. The imaging room was designed with lead lined walls, door and viewing glass in order to contain any radiation omitted during usage. The specialize HVAC systems were designed to meet the hospital’s strict air-change requirements, which has to re-cycle the air 6 times each hour.
