Architectural Excellence : A self-existing modular office, workshop and amenity facility of 170 sq. m. / 1820 sq ft. is situated in the mountainous area of Szklarska Poreba, Poland. The exterior of the building holds aesthetic colors characteristic for the region, whereas the geometric body with its slope roof meets the functional requirements of structures located in the vicinity of highlands. The complex consisting of 11 steel frame modules was designed as an alternative solution to a similar traditional masonry building combining staff & office spatial functions, including high standard sanitary and utility rooms for more than 10 employees. Clearly, the project was elaborated in order to eliminate all architectural barriers making it wholly accessible for the disabled, e.g .the washrooms are fully equipped including special selected fixtures for the disabled. The whole complex is covered with additional exterior wooden siding, which conceals the rigid looking containers and adds an integral alpine-style look.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : The provided project is ultimately factory completed with all system testing & sign-off. Apart from lower costs in comparison to traditional construction and high insulation parameters, the complex was designed to be energy saving, mainly due to its central heating system which uses on-site production process heated water as a source of energy. In order to both increase cost effectiveness and improve work conditions, rapid connection and running process of the unit at site is reduced to minimum. The roofing was designed for a quick drop and connection on site. To save on resources, the facilities are ready to be deployed after set-up and connection of the mechanical & electrical installation within plug & play design. The building is covered with a wind-proof steel slope roof, which is specially designed to protect it from intensive snow and rains. Furthermore, the units are of standard dimension for European heavy truck transport, hence the transport period is shortened.

Green Building Description : Environment protection is a vital element at Kan-Bud. Therefore, we are active in recycling production material, we hold valid environment permits, whereas our employees are eco conscious in each project. The modular building excels in improved thermal insulation and central gas heating where the main cost effective factor is gas, gaining maximum comfort; big windows account for natural daylight, whereas the gabled roof accounts for a solution to acoustic and snow or rain load matters at highland terrains. All fixtures were selected with particular focus on their low volume and energy use abilities. The exterior design of the units is eye-pleasing as the solid teak wood paneling construction makes it an aesthetical cological site neatly integrated within the nature of a small green town. The facility is environmentally friendly meeting the recent green agenda trend, for example energy-efficient electricity.

Technical Innovation : Kan-Bud puts great emphasis on innovation, natural environment protection and sustainability. Taking into account these requirements, a system of high quality construction partitions were implemented to assure high thermal insulation parameters of the roof and floor. Moreover, a half hour fire protection time span is guaranteed for interior fire. Kan-Bud strives to manage its resources responsibly to make them as sustainable as possible. Interiors walls are covered with paint wallpapers which facilitate the implementation of interior covering in a modern way. The light structure is strong, long-lasting and absolutely secure for workforce staff. What makes this project unique is a relatively difficult access in the remote mountainous terrain. Modular structures with enhanced usable space enable rapid installation in isolated and rigid areas.
