Additional Info

Award Winner : Guerdon, LLC

Architectural Excellence : Located within the lowest populated county in the United States, the operator of this camp went the extra mile to increase guest satisfaction and enjoyment while staying there.

This camp was designed around the owner’s vision of keeping workers safe, comfortable and well fed in order to keep them from missing shifts, getting injured on the job, jumping to a competitor, or just packing their bags and heading home. Some of the ‘upgraded’ features that are common in this camp include:
• Amenities and recreation centrally located for convenient access.
• Well lit, private entrances to each room.
• Clean, well maintained grounds.
• Private rooms designed for relaxation and a good night’s sleep
• Large Showers
• 37” Smart TVs with a range of entertainment options

Cost Energy Effectiveness : A unique aspect of this project is the partnership between Guerdon and Palomar (based in Texas) to jointly build the camp. Guerdon’s focus (and portion being entered to the awards contest) was the living space while Palomar focused solely on the DFAC facilities. This partnership allowed for a faster completion time with two factories manufacturing the plant simultaneously.

Technical Innovation : Wolf Camp represents the next step in the evolution of Target Logistics’ workforce accommodations, with high quality finishes and comforts that set it apart from any other facility of its kind. Its centerpiece is a unique dining room design that features a fireplace and a separation wall between the dining area and food service line, offering a relaxing dining atmosphere.

Where it was once just considered a cost of doing business, this camp turned workforce housing into an operational strategy that actually contributes to a client’s bottom line. Workers see and feel the executive treatment with higher end everything. These upscale accommodations built for comfort include hardy board siding, real wood beams in common areas, real wood castings, standard sized showers, full size beds, and other thoughtful amenities not typically associated with a ‘man camp’.
