Marion County Gaming
Additional Info
Award Winner : WillScot Mobile Mini
Architectural Excellence : WillScot worked with Central Florida Gaming to help Oxford Downs expand its racetrack and casino in Oxford, FL. The 1,100-sq.-ft. expansion added a card room and Tiki bar, both of which would bring in new revenue. The new facility was built from 11 modular buildings in Oxford, Florida.
The fun and festive exterior façade was inspired by a combination of Cracker Barrel’s time-tested design and the classic Tiki bar theme. WillScot in turn worked hand in hand with the project’s architect to deliver the desired look.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : The customer was approved for 25,000 sq. ft. of gaming space by the state of Florida. The racetrack owners decided to build something quickly with the expectation that a larger facility would be constructed in the future. The WillScot modular option was the fastest path to occupancy which allowed the casino to open its doors and start generating revenue sooner. In addition to plans for future expansion, the casino also needed the capability to relocate this building and found WillScot’s modular design to be the most cost effective.
