Architectural Excellence : Currently Lafayette College has over 2,500 undergraduate students and guarantees housing for all.
Recently Lafayette received applications for an additional 52 qualified students but did not have ample housing accommodations for them. Lafayette met with Mobilease to discuss their options for a solution. Mobilease presented a standard single-story design (single story KPN-42 model) for 52 students; a single story residence building totaling 9,870 SF. The layout met all requirements and a decision was made to commence operations. The new student residence building, March Hall, consists of 17 modules and provides 26 bedrooms (2 persons each), restrooms, showers, laundry facility and a lounge area for students. It’s neutral exterior color pallet blends seamlessly with its surrounding rural environment.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : Time is money and time was of the essence for Lafayette College. Tuition at Lafayette College is just under $50,000 per year without financial aid. With room, board and other fees, the total cost of attendance is over $60,000 per year. Being able to accept these 52 qualified students brought more revenue to the college.

Technical Innovation : Faced with the dilemma of whether or not to accept these 52 students, Lafayette viewed the dilemma as a challenge and an opportunity for growth. The search was on for additional dormitory space that would be needed in time for the new school semester in August.
March Hall includes a voice evacuation fire alarm system and keyless entries, combined with other industry standard utilities. It totals 9,870 SF and was completed in 130 days! The innovation of this project is the modular construction itself. Without modular construction technology, these 52 students would not have been accepted to Lafayette College to further their education.
