Architectural Excellence : This self contained executive sleeper is designed to accommodate 4 management staff in separate rooms with private bathrooms. Each private room features a built-in custom work station with maple cabinets and closet storage providing a functional work area and maximum storage space. The wall unit also houses a stainless steel mini fridge and personal coffee maker. Captain’s beds with premium “Therapedic” mattresses provide the ultimate in sleep comfort. The private bathrooms are upgraded with oversize 36” showers featuring luxury spa showerhead and heated towel warmers for those cold drilling months in the field. 19” flat panel TVs and accompanying DVD players complete this comfortable and cozy home away from home.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : Energy efficiency played a large role in the design of this facility. As a “Temporary” accommodation, one of the main focuses during the design phase was heating and water efficiency. The use of high efficiency Intertherm LPG furnaces in combination low wattage baseboard heaters in each room allow for versatile yet personalized climate control. All bedroom partition walls are insulated with R20 batt insulation to provide minimal heat loss/transfer between bedrooms, with the added benefit of decreased sound transfer. In addition, all floors are R20 rated, and the roof system is R32 rated to further enhance energy savings. Units are also equipped with Pella triple casement energy star windows featuring an insulating glass pane that can reduce heating and cooling needs by up to 25%. To maintain efficiency in water usage, low flow shower heads were installed in combination with an 80 gallon high recovery hot water heater to ensure minimal water waste.

Technical Innovation : Each room has been allotted a dedicated thermostat to allow for individual control of temperature to suit guest preferences. 9’ coffered ceilings enlarge the warm and inviting living space. High end lighting with dimmer controls provide a variety of options to create the perfect atmosphere for working and/or relaxing. All windows feature black out blinds located between panes to create darkness for sleeping whether staff are on the night shift or working in latitudes north of the Arctic Circle during months of extended sunlight. The windows on this unit have been relocated and placed above the bed, and beside the entry way, which allows for the entire back wall to be fully utilized with the wall unit providing for additional storage and mini-fridge amenities.
