Architectural Excellence : This project included 11,788 square feet of classroom and break room space encompassing 7 different buildings. The soft beige body and medium brown trim exterior colors were chosen because they blended in with the natural desert surroundings and to assist in shielding the hot summer Arizona Sun. The colors also were coordinated to be similar to the colors utilized on the existing main campus building. The red colored ramps and steps were chosen to help create a playful atmosphere for the students. The interior wall colors were coordinated to blend the VCG with the carpet creating a pleasant surrounding for the students. The teachers break room was designed with functionality in mind. We included a staff restroom, eating area and phone lines all within the same locale. The student’s restroom was all designed to be in one location and the separated boys and girls restrooms were housed in the same building as the teachers break room.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : We designed the buildings with a cost effective approach. We utilized a standard pad and pier foundation for not only cost effectiveness, but also as a time saving approach. A local developer assisted with the main utility line infusion to the property and our contractors worked as a team to make sure that school would be opened on time. We did it! Considering the fact that this was a major push project with an accelerated time frame of only 30 days of on site work time, we were proud to bring in a cost effective and profitable project for everyone!

Technical Innovation : We had only 30 days of on site work time once the first floor arrived. Our driven goal was to have all of the buildings ready for the first day of school. We set the wheels in motion by having bi-weekly construction meetings involving all of the sub trades. The grading contractor & surveying company worked together to ensure each pad was ready to go. The factory overcame a set back in their production schedule so they could honor a workable off line date. The set crew worked weekends to expedite the installation. The ramp & step company had someone on site taking measurements as soon as each building was installed. We also coordinated the schedules of the fire sprinkler company & the manufacturer to ensure the sprinkler system could be installed before each building left the plant. The construction inspector even did the final inspection on Sunday, the day before school started!
