Architectural Excellence : This modular building was designed to match the existing hospital. The earthtone colors allow the delta landscape the opportunity to blend with the exterior. The interior colors match the hospital walls, which are drywall that was taped and mudded onsite. This medical facility is home to five doctors. It contains multiple exam rooms, multiple private offices, an x-ray room, an audiology room, multiple restrooms and storage rooms. It features custom cabinets and sinks in each exam room. It was constructed with a pit set and retaining wall in order to achieve ADA compliance. A block foundation adds support while eliminating the potential of erosion.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : The rigid EIFS exterior increased the R rating of the building. It requires less energy to heat and cool the facility, providing utility cost savings of more than 20%. This exterior is also low maintenance. The fire rated wall between doctor’s offices eliminated the need for (and cost of) a sprinkler system. Timely completion of this complex allowed the customer to start operation quickly, thus generating revenue sooner.

Technical Innovation : Fire rated walls separate the doctor’s offices from each other, which eliminates the need for a sprinkler system. The acoustic ceiling was installed onsite along with the finishing of the drywall. The radiology room was built with a double truss to accommodate the weight of the x-ray equipment. Lead-lined walls were added onsite and custom finishes to the rooms occurred after installation of the equipment. A blower system was installed at one end of the building and louvers at the other for airflow under the building. This eliminates the potential of moisture. All gutters were placed in a pipe and water is routed away from the site.
