Architectural Excellence : This project is a 420 sq foot security guard house for the Kroger Distribution Center. The building is constructed with perimeter framing using 12” Jr I beam ASTM A 36 steel. The interior includes a suspended ceiling and laminated wall coverings. The exterior consists of 1” brick veneer, Alexandria in color with the brick also covering the perimeter framing. The flooring was pre-poured concrete slab over 22 gauge B Deck. The roof was constructed with centered peak truss at 16” O.C. with a 30# live load with 26 gauge steel standing seam panels with continuous ridge.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : Pac-Van Louisville worked with transport team and setters and the crane company to assure proper installation of the building upon delivery. Within four hrs, the building was set and ready for operation. The compact, concise design of this facility maximizes usage of the space.

Technical Innovation : This security building features laminated FRP panels over 3/8” OSB with 24” deep L shape laminated counter top furniture to ensure plenty of room for the staff and visitors. The size and the design of this project allowed the distribution center an easy entry as a check point and also presents the professional atmosphere that matches the entire distribution center facility already in place. This prototype can now be used throughout the country for guard facilities at other Kroger Distribution Centers.
