Architectural Excellence : To achieve an aggressive K.Hovnanian grand opening schedule, Williams Scotsman and K. Hovnanian worked as team to design this modular sales center. We designed the building around standard factory construction features. The building interior design included three offices, a restroom, coffee bar and collateral area. Williams Scotsman worked with VanMar, a new N. California factory, to produce the building for this venture. After the building was installed, finish crews took over, installing a tape, texture and paint wall finish, crown moldings, 16” custom tile floor, etched interior windows. Exterior features included French doors, exterior truss, and an ornate trellis with flagstone support pillars. Although this building has many high-end sales center features, it is easily restored to standard lease fleet standards, maintaining a reasonable cost of restoration.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : Since the basis for this project was standard factory construction, combined with standard shipping specifications, cost were minimized. Although we produced a high-end sales center Williams Scotsman kept the basic box design to facilitate integration into our lease fleet. As with all of our lease fleet, we used a green star energy efficient TPO roof.

Technical Innovation : Due to the expedited timeline, we implemented a “design on the fly concept”. We relied on the factory to provide the blank canvas (standard mobile office specifications), thus keeping long lead items to a minimum, while the design team developed a workable finish schedule . By pit setting the building to grade and a paint scheme to match the model homes, this portable structure visually integrated into the surroundings.
