Indigenous People Community Center Offices
Additional Info
Award Winner : Modern Building Systems, Inc.
Architectural Excellence : This 4900 square foot building is a complex with offices, conference rooms and collaborative open space that were originally leased by the U.S. Forest Service for 25 years to fit in a limited site area and accommodate parking near the building. The body was retrofitted with siding, a new roof, updated paint and door and window trim in order to match existing buildings.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : Choosing to renovate instead of purchasing a new building saved the tribe money and time. On top of that we added high efficiency 17EER split system HVAC units and LED lighting to reduce long term energy costs for them. Renovating used buildings vs building new meant that the structure didn’t have to be built to today’s more stringent codes.
