Architectural Excellence : This 8’x40’ ISO standard container was installed adjacent to multiple tennis courts at an Indianapolis private high school. It is being used as a tennis training facility. The building is climate-controlled and utilizes the original container doors that lead into an equipment storage area. An exterior man door gives access into a space that allows players to review instructional training videos. The interior has a bright appearance due to the 48” energy efficient LED lights as well as high efficiency windows for observation and natural lighting. The walls are covered with vinyl covered Luan and the flooring is finished with vinyl tile. The container was painted to match the branding of the school. An exterior stairwell leads up to an observation deck with a wrap-around fence enclosure and can accommodate up to forty-two spectators for full view of the tennis matches.

Technical Innovation : Having the ability to complete all of the construction off-site allowed for limited student exposure which drastically reduced the installation time on-site and limited safety exposure to students and staff. The facility also provided many energy efficient features which include; R-15 spray foam insulation under the floor, R-10 continuous rigid foam board and R-15 fiberglass batts between studs in sidewalls for a total wall R value of 25, R-20 continuous rigid foam board and R-15 fiberglass batts between joists in ceiling for a total R value of 35, 48” energy efficient LED lights and low “E” insulated windows.
