Architectural Excellence : In order to meet the city’s requirement in resembling a permanent structure, the customer contracted an architect, who in conjunction with Williams Scotsman and Walden Structures, designed and implemented all their ideas into a sophisticated modular that resulted in a permanent look and feel. This overall building is comprised of three, 12’ x 60’ modules. The interior layout of the building includes offices, conference room, interior and exterior restrooms, kitchen, and guest facilities. Interior walls consist of a drywall finish complimented by a soft sand-tone color for a warm feeling. Also, the “L-shape” guest/receptionist area includes custom wiring for televisions and large fixed windows for an open view of the Blimp. Other key design element was the building’s exterior, which was designed with a stair step mansard and custom color schemes resulting in a modern look.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : The modular building was installed on a concrete slab which ran into their patio setting. This made their landscaping and its use a more economical means for their high traffic use. Ground level HVAC’s were a required feature for the city. Working with architect, factory and customer closely during every step of the project was an extremely important factor to accommodating the city’s requirements.

Technical Innovation : This building is located in a high visibility area, where visitors board the “Goodyear” blimp during promotional trips. Therefore, an exterior stucco façade and coordinating metal trims was applied on site to compliment the building’s appearance and blend with the existing air station environment. In order to accommodate specific city requirements, custom ventilation which sits under the building pad and vented to the building exterior was also installed.
