Architectural Excellence : This modular press box was constructed to add more seating and create an enhanced viewing experience. The press box is 10 feet wide by 90 feet long. This consists of a main control box, two coach’s boxes, and two suites on both ends. The fifteen wood trimmed 60 x48 windows allow for extraordinary viewing of any sporting event. There is a roof access for camera crews to tape events with a 10 foot by 20 foot railing surrounding this area. The box is located atop bleachers that are 35 feet above ground. The interior is carpeted and there are also built in counter tops to offer ease and comfort in sports reporting. This press box is definitely the focal point of the entire stadium.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : All engineering was planned to keep weight to a minimum. Keeping the cost of cranes in mind, everything was in place to keep craning time to a minimum. The decision to use aluminum siding was also a considerable advantage in reducing the weight. The railing on top of the building was added after the building was set. The deadline for this project was very strict. The building and all items associated with this project had to be in before the first scheduled event. Making this happen offered the school district time and budget savings and provided the space required to accommodate their needs.

Technical Innovation : The windows in this modular are slanted at a slight angle to prevent any glares that could occur with a traditionally placed window. This is a feature that was added for viewing pleasure. The box was placed on a steel structure. The press box had to be built precisely to fit firmly against the already in place bleachers. Twelve feet of steel for standing room on either side of the building was added. This extra space is also an access point for the suites. The roof was reinforced over the control box to add stability for camera crews that will be filming from above. Two cranes were used to lift each box to its specific location. While suspended, the buildings were welded on several points.
