Architectural Excellence : Three modular buildings (18) floors make up the 13,800 sq. ft. modular complex. The modular buildings will serve as traumatic brain injury and rehabilitation clinics. These clinics are essential in treating soldiers with brain injuries as well as identifying signs of post traumatic stress disorder. The buildings are complete with exam rooms, testing rooms, consults rooms, administration offices, waiting, NCOIC, psychologist/group treatment room, Comm./Data, Soiled Linen, Restrooms, Motor skills room, weight room, quiet rooms, Dynavision room and a large scale computer facility. These interim buildings will be used while the army conducts its investigation into the mass shootings that took place on base November of 2009. Interior design using cool natural earth tone colors as to invite a non-aggressive environment. Exterior design and architectural appearance are aesthetically pleasing and match the base’s existing tan and brown color scheme.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : Icon used low-E windows and T-8 ballast to increase energy efficiency. All walls extend to deck with R-11 insulation to reduce sound and increase heating and air use. By using the Icon Standard supplied materials and buy in bulk we were able to reduce cost both in material and labor. Icon provided all design and construction which saved A/E cost to the Government.

Technical Innovation : Special floor load requirements to increase live loads were used to accommodate the exercise machines along with fully functional living space including a kitchen, with range, refrigerator, washer/dryer and bathrooms to work on motor skills. All water lines are PEX instead of PVC which allows for easy installation and reduces cost both in labor and materials.
