Architectural Excellence : This genetic tree research and development facility had to meet stringent USFS Northwest regional architectural standards and review. For architectural appeal the customer requested an overbuilt truss system with high ceilings. The offices feature hardwood paneling and ceramic tile flooring. The building has several accordion walls to divide the space on an as needed basis.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : Modular construction was chosen due to time constraints and fund restriction.
For energy efficiency the building features dual glazed windows and T8 light fixtures. From a green building aspect the structure includes cellulose insulation and VOC paint.

Technical Innovation : Since the research conducted inside this facility requires permanent power, the building had to be equipped with a complete power back up system for uninterrupted power supply. In addition a lightning arrestor system was installed. The reception area has access to a multi stage emergency locking system for the main entrance to ensure security of the facility.
