Architectural Excellence : This prototype unit was first designed in 2006, but this year Tecno Fast ATCO S.A.(TFA) updated it with a modern and retro flare. The re-design began with changes to the exterior that went from a corrugated siding to a flat aluminum composite material for a futuristic look that included rounded corners. Every design feature outside the unit was created to appear flat against the surface. This re-design even included streamlining rivets that make up the fastening of the exterior cladding. Other upgraded changes include adding flat and tinted windows with an operable awning-type of feature. Major changes to the interior include battenless vinyl covered gyproc, updated kitchen cabinets and the chassis extension that originally housed the generator is now incorporated into the building. This unit can house up to three people and consists of two bedrooms, full kitchen, dining area, bathroom with built in toilet and full shower.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : This unit was designed to withstand torrential rains and temperatures as high as 110 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity of 80 per cent during extreme cold and snowy weather conditions. The energy efficient lighting package consists of fluorescent lighting in the kitchen and halogen lights in the dining area. Thermo pane tinted windows are also featured along with a low flushing toilet and heating system on a timer which reduces energy use. This unit is fully insulated and contains aluminum curtains on the interior for blackouts, heat and cold retention. It can also generate its own power with a genset mounted on a steel platform extension, fresh water and sewage system that can sustain two people up to two weeks in the rough Andeans mountains.

Technical Innovation : The unit is self sufficient and includes air conditioning and satellite dish capabilities with a 32-inch plasma TV wall mount. There is radiant matt in-floor heating and folding integrated steps for the main entrance. There are eight lifting and leveling points integrated into main steel structural columns and steel floor frame, metal studs to reduce weight as well as 10 adjustable leveling feet built in.
