Architectural Excellence : This multi-county vocational technical school was experiencing an increasing demand for its programs. The school population and lack of classroom space on the existing multi-building campus necessitated educating students temporarily at a nearby retail facility. The desire to bring all students on the school campus was the over-riding goal. The limited space resulted in a plan to install a modular building, utilizing the green space between the two permanent school buildings. This plan allowed all students to remain on campus and minimized their commute between buildings, allowing for good campus flow. Housing the computer lab and small group instruction alternative education program in the modular classrooms utilizes the newer features of the building that easily adapt to technology requirements. The modular classroom building is perfectly nestled between the other school buildings on the cozy little campus.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : The commercial vertical siding used on the exterior is a cost effective material and excellent cost savings solution. The light weight, minimal maintenance siding eliminates the need for painting! Commercial grade steel exterior and solid core wood interior doors with heavy duty, school quality panic hardware devices and closers insure safety, durability and low maintenance for the heavy usage required of school doors. High quality lock sets are also included for safety and security in the school building. A simple, modular building manufactured to quality specifications and designed with value in mind, brought the off campus students ‘home’. The school is thrilled with the quality of the educational environment provided in their modular structure!

Technical Innovation : The modular units have an 8’6” ceiling height providing an open and spacious feel to the rooms. The exterior is durable, low maintenance vertical vinyl siding with rough sawn cedar trim. The transverse ridge roof structure includes factory installed mini mansard around the full perimeter of the building. To educate all students on the existing campus, blend the new classrooms with the other buildings and not disrupt the education programs, the best solution was the quick install of modular classrooms. The building electrical was designed to accommodate various educational program requirements. In addition to A/C and low voltage requirements for the computer lab presently in use, raceways that can be used for data ports at multiple locations were installed.
