Architectural Excellence : The office and administration building consists of 25 units, each measuring 14 x 60, which combine to provide a building measuring 20,704 square feet. The facility houses executive and administrative staff and provides a large number of private offices, conference rooms, cubicle offices, open work areas and break room. The exterior is comprised of a site installed stucco finish, a parapet to conceal roof-mounted HVAC units and hidden skirting joints to enhance the appearance. The ceiling height is nine feet and all interior walls are insulated and installed full height to the rafters to prevent sound transfer.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : Many energy saving features have been provided including Low-E glass windows, a reflective white membrane roof, and R-30 insulation in the roof. In addition, recycled carpet tile and a full perimeter guttering system which drains into landscape beds around the perimeter were installed. The high efficiency rooftop HVAC system adds to the energy savings.

Technical Innovation : The hospital required a building that appeared to be permanently installed as well as being durable with energy saving features. The project was completed in 110 days. The subfloor is a fibre-cement overlay which will add years of life to the tile floor finishes. The ceiling height duplicates what is used in existing buildings. A fire alarm system, CTV, burglar alarm, panic control system, magnetic locks and telecom system were also provided. The building was installed on a poured-in-place concrete foundation to ensure that a durable and long-lasting installation would be achieved.
