Architectural Excellence : The University required both an isolation space for students that test positive and then also a quarantine space for contact-tracing. We came up with (20) 5-bedroom singlewides, where each bedroom would have its own full bathroom and workspace for the students to quarantine comfortably. For the contact-tracing space, we utilized (5) in-fleet doublewides where 10 students would be able to quarantine in a “suite-style” room. Each suite would include 10 bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a kitchen/living space. With COVID on the rise and universities wanting to bring students back to campus, they needed a quick solution to keep students safe.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : VESTA partnered with various subcontractors from multiple installation crews, campus preferred vendors, and even local police to help with the timeliness of the project and to make sure there was zero downtime. We not only worked fast but we worked safely with zero incidents or positive virus tests during the project. Instead of having one large complex, these buildings were built for temporary use with the idea that they could rapidly relocate a portion of them to another location as needed.

Technical Innovation : Speed was the driving factor for this project as we needed to have the isolation rooms ready for when the students arrived back on campus. Utilizing a manufacturer that was able to produce buildings at multiple locations helped VESTA achieve their goal. Being able to totally separate the students to have their own living spaces with separate HVAC assured our client the virus would not spread further in a central air/heat system.
