Award Winner : ATCO Structures & Logistics Ltd.
Architectural Excellence : The design of the exterior building was created to match the current style of retail units in this area using site applied stucco and a 30 year composite shingled roof. Likewise, the interior casework was also built to match existing branches. The rear dormer on the unit was designed to work with the drive thru lanes installed on site to allow access for a vacuum tube shoot system. A perimeter frame was used to enable the front door to only be one step up from the ground giving the look of a permanent building. Interior ceiling height was close to nine feet tall to create a more open feel. The front elevated entrance canopy was pre-fabricated and shipped with the building for site installation.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : ATCO Structures (USA) Inc. designed and manufactured this bank to meet the current ASHRE codes. Among other features, the building had T-8 lights and insulated windows. The fold up roof concept allowed for the building to be transported to site without any special transportation permits while being protected from inclement weather at the same time. The roof was raised up and weather tight in the same day, saving installation costs.

Technical Innovation : The vacuum tube shoot system was constructed to allow drive thru lanes access to the teller area which also included the installation of an eight foot fixed bullet resistant window. The unit was pre-wired at the factory for security and telephone system. The 6/12 roof slope was achieved with a hinged, fold up roof design. When in the down position, this allowed the unit to be transported to site and quickly folded up to speed the installation process.
