City of Atwater
Additional Info
Award Winner : Pacific Mobile Structures, Inc.
Architectural Excellence : This modular building consisting of two 36x60 sections attached in an “L” shape configuration is part of an expansion project for city services. While the building provides offices for city departments it is also publicly accessed. Since this is located on city property it needed to blend with a permanent building that was built in 1968. Placement of the building required consideration of existing parking lot, handicap access and a water feature.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : Modular construction was requested since it provided a quicker occupancy than stick built. The modular and ramp were designed and positioned to utilize the existing handicap accessible walkways and parking lot. Much of the mature landscape was preserved in the installation of the modular.
