Architectural Excellence : This 96’x48’ modular building is being used as for additional office space. This was part of a remodernization project for the Social Service Department at Oakland Children’s Hospital. They needed more office space for additional doctors and patient therapy rooms, along with removing old modular buildings that have been at the site for over 20 years.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : Modular construction was requested so they would not be required to go through the extensive OSHPOD process with stick-built buildings. We located all utility point-of-connections on the new modular building close to the location of the old modular buildings, to help reduce the utility connection costs.

Technical Innovation : We needed to remove (3) existing smaller used modular buildings from the site, then replace with (1) larger brand new modular building. Accessibility around the existing hospital helipad limited the size of the new modular building, since we could not close down the freeway to crane the new building sections into place. We did include many sound deadening walls to provide better client confidentiality between each office.
