Architectural Excellence : This 39,112 square foot modular elementary school building is comprised of (32) 14'x66', (10) 14'x60' and (4) 14'x29' modules housing 25 classrooms, administration offices including nurse's office, 4 special education rooms, music room, library/media, cafeteria, art rooms, faculty rooms and physical education room. The modular building is adjacent to an existing elementary school and sits on top of a hill with a new bus driveway built for the new modular building. The modular configuration is an "L" shape to meet the square footage requirements and to fit the space on the customers preferred site. The exterior has 7/16" smart panel siding with a 12" mansard overhang. There are plenty of 48"x48" horizontal sliding vinyl insulated windows to provide natural light. The interior has 1/2" VCG walls, suspended ceiling, 20 minute fire rated doors recessed into each room with 5"x20" wire glass lite, carpet in hallway and 1/8" vinyl tile in each classroom.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : Mobilease designed the exterior studs to be 2'x6' in lieu of 2'x4' with an R-19 value in lieu of R-13. The interior walls also were R-11 insulation to provide sound detuning as well as saving energy. The HVAC were staggered so each classroom controlled their Thermostat so when the sun is on their side they could adjust the temperature accordingly and not create an uncomfortable environment for the classrooms on the other side of the hallway. Each mechanical unit is also equipped with a CRV to meet the fresh air requirement for a classroom environment.

Technical Innovation : As a cost saving alternate to a standard concrete foundation system, Mobilease designed a crushed stone pad to meet the required bearing capacity for the design loads as well as saving the customer money. Mobilease installed a 30 gauge galvanized steel bottom board to eliminate the need of crawl space sprinkler system as well as keeping out rodents. The Kindergarten age group needed bathrooms in their classrooms and the other bathrooms were located strategically throughout the building in 14'x66' modules with multiple facilities for both boys and girls. Due to the square footage, we were required to provide a sprinkler system so we supplied a suspended ceiling to conceal the sprinkler pipe. In the library, cafeteria and physical education rooms we increased the floor loads from 50 pounds per foot to 250 pounds to handle the extra weight and traffic and provided clear span trusses to eliminate the need of exposed posts.
