Architectural Excellence : Blending the best of form and function, this two piece building was designed for retail space efficiency while keeping the owners image and brand identity at the forefront. The building exterior uses flat architectural metal panels in the owner’s corporate colors that were preinstalled prior to shipping to the site. On site, cultured stone was applied to finish the look and feel of the corporate stores and surrounding service center facilities. Fully glazed store front allows viewing from both inside and out. Customized millwork and warm interiors make the store more inviting.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : Building the store off site meant the on-site contractor could focus their efforts on the development of the remaining retail/hospitality facilities without having to work around yet another element. It helped them shorten the overall schedule for the service center, and as this particular site required union forces, building the store in a manufacturing environment –it kept their labor rates down as well. The store features white reflective roofing, high efficiency lighting, low flush toilets, hands free faucets – all contributing to the energy savings targeted by their LEED Silver scorecard.

Technical Innovation : This convenience store was a part of a much larger project service center site development along a major highway and is applying for LEED Silver certification. Contributions to the LEED standards determined by the owner included a white TPO roof to reduce the heat island effect, low VOC paints, adhesives and sealants, recycled content in the steel and drywall and FSC certified lumber. Each store has built in lifting eyes so it can be picked from the trailer and easily set in place. NRB’s build-together process at the plant ensured the store went back together again quickly and efficiently.
