Additional Info

Award Winner : Kent Homes, a division of J.D. Irving, Ltd.

Architectural Excellence : This building was a unique structure because it was required to fit in with a very rustic and remote build location. The interior of the main building includes kitchen and washroom and a large central gathering space for campers. The exterior used cladboard wood siding over OSB. The result blended seamlessly into the rustic camp environment while still offering the modular advantages needed. The site also used a helical pile foundation which still allows for future mobility but is a much more sturdy foundation for the life of the building onsite.

Cost Energy Effectiveness : The key cost effectiveness on this project is having the entire build done in plant. The challenges of bringing in all the materials, finding labour to work a remote site and have a build done in the time needed would be astronomical.
