Architectural Excellence : The Calgary International Oil Show is the forum to prove to the industry of oil field operators and engineers that your product can handle the demands presented in the extremes of the Canadian north. The design scope is of critical importance and must allow for the strength to handle oil rig movement in weather and road extremes, while incorporating two luxury, self contained suites. The steel frame is the foundation in which the entire strength of the module is anchored. By utilizing a steel threaded integral bolting system, the floor becomes one with the steel frame. The walls and roof become one with the floor and steel frame by tying together all components with bolts, screws and steel strapping. The interior leaves no room for compromise and provides sleeping, washing, cooking, dining and office facilities for two engineers. Each suite is completely self contained and includes stainless steel appliances, residential plumbing fixtures and furnishings with a functional office.
Cost Energy Effectiveness : The completion of a design that fits two self contained luxury suites in 672 square feet reduces the cost in two ways. Two person occupancy for the cost of one structure is in effect and the engineers are able to work more efficiently together by being contained in the same module. The mechanical system utilizes a 90% efficient sealed combustion furnace, and an 80% efficient direct vent hot water tank. In itself, these fixtures reduce the need to replenish the LPG fuel system at an expensive and frequent rate.

Technical Innovation : In order to eliminate the majority of the expansion and contraction that is inherent to wood frame products, engineered high strength glues and fasteners were utilized. The deflection in the module once blocked at each end is less than one half of an inch. The key to an operational engineer module is the communication with both the rig and home base. The system is complete with satellite and radio communication, that is integrated in the factory prior to shipment. As is the case in the oil and gas industry, isolation leads to a lack of access to the basic utility services. The module is equipped with self contained water and LPG fuel storage systems via compact tanks, that are readily accessible once the need to replenish arrives.
